So here is the first edition on TBI Inside for the year. We hope that 2019 kicked off with a great start and your New Year’s resolutions are still in place. This is the right time to also set professional goals. Needless to say, they have to be ambitious – accomplishing them depends on all of us as a team.
Let’s start with some motivation for all of us. Since customers are at the center of our work, we are very happy to share with you the New Year’s greetings to all of us from a very special client of ours. Wishing us health and success throughout 2019, Grandfather Ivan from Karlovo, a small town in the heart of Bulgaria, has also sent us a poem about Karlovo. What a nice way for us to realize whom we are working for and how satisfied and grateful people can be.
This edition of TBI Inside has a lot about us also giving back. You remember that in December we helped the kids at the “Prof. D-r Decho Denev” Secondary school and kindergarten. Later during the month, we supported the Bulgarian Christmas campaign by the Bulgarian President for the second year in a row. In January some of our colleagues participated in the Football with a Cause tournament. What a great way to start the year with a positive, charitable vibe.
Let’s keep it throughout 2019!
Internal & Corporate Communications
IN THE MEDIA
Petr Baron talks to Forbes
TBI Bank’s acquisition of a 9% share in Norwegian Monobank hit the Bulgarian market as a surprise and attracted a lot of media attention towards us. For a couple of days, this was the major financial news on the market. But it is also generated significant follow-up interest from the media. We were flattered that Forbes Bulgaria used the occasion to let Petr explain all the details behind the deal and some insights on our current projects.
“TBI Bank will approve loans in Bulgaria
entirely online in 9 minutes”
Here’s the full text of the interview Petr gave to Nikolay Neychev, a leading finance journalist in Bulgaria.
Volunteers needed – are you good with mobile apps?
Are you good with mobile apps? Do you have experience in giving constructive feedback? Do you feel like helping your colleagues on an exciting project? Keep reading.
We’re now in the final stages with our mobile app. To ensure a seamless customer experience when we launch it, we’re now looking for some testers who are willing to share their views on our fabulous project.
We are in need of both Android and iOS users. You’d be given access to the app so you can use it as a regular customer and after that, you’d tell us what worked well and what didn’t. Any questions you might have throughout the testing period, of course, will be addressed by the responsible team right away.
Sounds interesting? Get in touch with Todor Hristov and become a five-star TBI Bank tester.
There are prizes too 😉
THE PLACE TO BE
FunDing Talks – Third season opened
At the beginning of the New Year we have good news for you – the regular Funding Talks meetings are coming back with many interesting speakers and topics to attend.
The best way to stay informed is to drink directly from the source, right? This is what our Funding Talks is all about.
We started the third season with our first external guest speaker – Mr. Zoran Arsovski. He joined us to share his expertise on how to analyze customer behavior with the presentation on “The potential of well-structured business data”. Mr. Arsovski is a Digital Marketing professional with over 10 years’ experience across different companies (Deltastock, Nestle, Telerik). Recently Zoran founded his digital marketing company, consulting clients from various industries and geographies.
Organised in a cozy and informal environment, traditionally FunDing Talks are open for friends and colleagues from other departments and thus contribute to cross-departmental relations and shared knowledge. The Talks enjoyed high interest so far, as guest speakers include colleagues such as Olga Gulkova, Gergana Staykova, Kostas Tovil, etc. Many more will come over the course of 2019.
CHARITY IN OUR HEARTS
TBI Bank plays Football with a Cause
In January we witnessed an example that good things happen even after Christmas. We are talking about a charity football tournament organized to support a girl with a rare condition. Sofia is only 3 months old and she in need of transplantation.
Organized by “Football with a Cause”, a charity organization, the event took place on 12th January. Sixteen teams went head to head, and TBI Bank’s reps were amongst them. Filip Popov from Business Banking captained the team and was joined by Nikolay Gospodinov and Martin Nikolaev from Project Management, Boyko Atanasov from Compliance, Yosif Madolev from Collection Strategy and Alex Dimitrov, our Chief Risk Officer.
“We are glad we had the opportunity to stretch a bit and do so in the name of a good cause. We hadn’t played together before and it was an interesting experience to work things out as a team. Some of us work in the same department but others are on different floors and don’t get to see each other often. We brainstormed about various teamwork methods over a couple of pints after the game”, commented Filip.
As for the results, the boys won a game against one of the highest rated teams at the tournament. The amount raised for Sofi’s treatment is around 13 000 leva.
TBI Bank supports the Bulgarian Christmas
For another consecutive year, TBI Bank supported the Bulgarian Christmas – the charity initiative that represents mutual help and hope for Bulgarian children and which is currently under the patronage of the President of Bulgaria. This year’s campaign was titled “Supporting Children with Serious Diseases and Disability” and aimed to provide diagnostic equipment to help children in need.
The goal is to provide high-tech equipment to reduce the risk of disease complications. Successful treatment depends on technology, timely diagnosis and systemic care that will provide children with a secure future, and we can ensure that through our combined efforts.
“We believe that the prosperity of the bank is not just about presenting itself on the market, but also about making a public contribution. Therefore, helping the future of thousands of children is a huge success, and the campaign is an example of the potential of the unification of organizations from business, governmental and non-governmental sectors,” said Valentin Galabov, Chairman of the Management Board.
The amount raised this year reached two million leva and was announced at the charity event which took place on Christmas Day at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre.
Special New Year’s greetings
What do you know about Karlovo? Our international colleagues probably haven’t even heard of this town and Bulgarians associate is solely as the birthplace of Vasil Levski, the “Freedom Apostle”.
Well, our loyal customer, grandfather Ivan, made it easier for us by sending over special New Year’s greeting card to the entire TBI Bank team, a poem about Karlovo, plus pictures from the beautiful town in the heart of Bulgaria.
“Stay healthy and successful in the New Year, my dear lenders from TBI Bank”, he wrote. What a nice gesture, what a nice man! Needless to say, a set of branded gifts are on the way to Karlovo 😉
